The key markets for the 2011 Ford Vertrek

With the new model, the automaker is targeting class-leading fuel economy and low emissions, without forgetting performance. The Vertrek is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged Ecoboost four-pot with start and stop technology.

2011 Ford Ranger will eventually be marketed in 180 countries

Although not planned for introduction in the United States or Canada, the all-new Ford Ranger will eventually be marketed in 180 countries, making it one of Ford's farthest reaching products. This reflects the importance of compact pickup trucks to consumers in many parts of the world and the significance of the Ranger in Ford's global product portfolio.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3J9ha2NlKtPhd-Z8HqleKCq2bL4V69lMSa1n3qSviOs3JWs2zOwq5qOytYbUwNxJaGc3t3ccyObhMjkWXmq9nDWQiRu4YQJy2dK0G6syqdlC5RpGpJJZSYMc1wZcUFsXntqlonjMOxkSt/s1600/Ford_Ranger_2012_car_pictures-6.jpg

The new side curtain air bags have not yet received a crash test rating, and the rear jump seats are not considered to be particularly safe. Ranger received a 3 out of 5 rollover resistance rating, which is comparable to other trucks in its class. Since 1998 the Ranger has received an acceptable rating from the IIHS, and the 2010 model is no exception. The IIHS gives the Ranger an acceptable crash offset rating, which is the second highest rating on its four rating scale. The Ranger has not been bumper bash or rear side impact tested by the NHTSA.

the 2011 Ford Focus pricing

The mission to capture a wider audience (read the Corolla and Civic crowd) also warranted a more 'mature' interior design. The judicious application of 'wood' of a subtle shade, two-tone colour scheme mid smattering of brushed aluminum accents on the Focus cabin is right on I lie money and tastefully executed. The quality is generally good as well, though some plastics aren't quite Japanese slick (such as the air-con vent flaps and switchgear), but the four-spoke leather steering is good to grip, while the main controls are laid out logically and easy to master. The amenities and equipment list is also generous and thoroughly contemporary, courtesy of the 'Ghia' specs. There's a useful trip computer, a CD player that stacks six, accompanied by satellite controls on the steering column, a dual-zone automatic climate control system with rear air-con vents, clever little cubby holes front and back, a rear bench that folds flat.

2012 The Ford-Focus Electric

Fast forward to last month's media preview in Thailand and let's just say the sigh of relief was all too palpable when the curtains were drawn. It's telling how minor aesthetic tweaks can significantly alter the appeal of a car. No, the Focus still isn't gorgeous, but with the Asia-specific clear lens tail-lamps and chromed grille, it is much more palatable, attractive almost. If you have already gotten the cheque book out, then the optional body-kit (as seen on our test car) is a must have, it adorns the Focus with much-needed presence. Ford officials did point out that while the previous generation focus captured the imagination of many, its controversial styling divided opinions, it would seem the risk of alienating the masses was just too big a gamble.

1998 marked the entry of the Ford Focus in the auto market and 2010 witnesses the standards it has set. In a class of its own, a high end, precision engineering has brought the Focus up in the performance sect, which, according to common belief, must also set the standards high for the Ford Focus insurance. However, the truth is, protecting the vehicle in all aspects of it need not come expensive. The secret lies in selecting the correct Ford Focus insurance options - those that are absolutely required and a few more to buffer. Chosen right, they reduce the premiums greatly.

The company's designers added distinctive black accents to various body parts (mirrors, roof and spoiler) and Citic Dicastal 10-spoke wheels, also painted black. Inside, Recaro buckets with embroidered Grabber Blue “Boss 302” inscriptions and other chromatic touches set this car apart. The Laguna Seca package comes with upgraded suspension, chassis and aerodynamic kit, turning the 2012 Mustang Boss 302 into a ready-to-race muscle car. According to Ford, the Laguna Seca can easily reach 1.03 lateral Gs, while also featuring shorter stopping distances and faster acceleration times compared to the regular Boss 302.

1964 was the banner year that Ford Motors unveiled a new breed of car at the World's Fair in New York. With the belief that a small sports car would be the next hot ticket, Ford made strides to make it one of their automobiles. Understanding that true success would come with volume sales, a two-seat design was dropped and Ford introduced the 1965 Mustang based on the Falcon with numerous options to give buyers the opportunity to customize their purchase. At the base price of $2,320, the Mustang racked up over 22,000 in sales its first day, 417,000 in the first year and surpassed the one million mark in March of 1966. The attention was now on the pony car, and is the only class of muscle car that still exists today. The Ford Mustang is the only original pony car to remain in uninterrupted production.

2011 The The Ford Mondeo has been a very successful car for Ford

Originally, Ford Mondeo came in three different major models-a four door, a five door with hatchback and a five door estate. When the car was launched in 1993, its purpose was to replace Ford Sierra, especially in the European markets. In addition, it was meant to replace the Telstar in Asia.

Ford Mondeo is a front wheel (unless otherwise specified) drive vehicle and is typically available in either manual or automatic transmission. In its heyday, the car was a completely new design, unlike any other car Ford had ever built, including the Sierra-as a replacement, it was meant to be nothing like the car being replaced. Mondeo was the first car in history to be sold with standard side airbags, along with many other safety features including seat belt pretensioners, side-impact bars, a driver's airbag, traction control and self-leveling suspension.

The Ford Mondeo has been a very successful car for Ford. The Mondeo hasn't purely been a success in the UK it has also been a very popular around the world. This is mainly because it is one of the most practical cars on the market but still looks stylish to drive. The car is practical because of its comfortable interior and the amount of space it has in the rear and boot of the car. The Mondeo is also great value for money and is priced lower than many of its competitors offering similar comfort and size as other saloons available for much higher prices.

Ford has also managed to keep the Ford Mondeo up to date particularly with the chassis and interior redesign in order to continually remain refreshed which has enabled the continuation of successful number of sales around the world. Ford has also created 3 different model specifications in order to increase the number choice available to potential consumers. The Ford Mondeo Edge is Ford's basic model but it still includes a number of features which include Headlight courtesy delay, Cruise control Air conditioning, Advanced Bluetooth with Voice Control System, CD/radio, Intelligent Protection System including driver's knee airbag, Trip computer, Leather-wrapped steering wheel, and Quickclear heated windscreen.

Although Ford Mondeo was put into the same class as Contour and Mercury Mystique as a "world car", it does not necessarily share the features that have classified its sisters as world cars in the past. For instance, Ford Mondeo does not feature front mirrors and door handles like those on the Contour, or the windscreen. In fact, the Mondeo is less like a world car, than newer models like the Ford Focus and the Mk. 6 Ford Fiesta, which both fit the bill much better in terms of being a "world car".

The middle of the range Mondeo is the Zetec which includes the same features as the Edge basic model. In addition to these features the interior includes chrome and leather style gear knob and seats, 16" alloy wheels and front and rear powered windows. The top of the range model is the Ford Mondeo Ghia. The features of this top of the range Mondeo include wood effect interior, floor mats, ambient interior lighting and most importantly the Sony 6CD DAB audio system.

2010 Ford GT90 Super Sport Car Concept going to auction

2010 Ford GT90 Super Sport Car Concept

If Ford first introduced the GT90 Concept at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show next month, it would still be one of the most eyecatching cars on the show floor. What's amazing is that Ford unveiled the GT40 successor nearly 15 years ago. What's more, even by today's standards it's still a supercar among supercars.
The quad-turbocharged 6.0-litre V12 puts out an estimated 720 horsepower, the body is constructed completely of carbon fiber and top speed is somewhere in the 400 kph range. The only hints that it's not a modern supercar are the all-blue interior and wheels that look dated now.
So what's all the fuss about the GT90 Concept now? RM Auctions in the States has just announced that it will be offering the concept car at its upcoming Arizona sale. That's right, this is your chance to own one of the coolest concept vehicles of all time. This is the first time that the GT90 Concept has ever been publicly for sale at auction, and RM claims that it is in "excellent running condition, having been properly stored and maintained over the year." No estimated on price is given, but we're guessing it will take a large suitcase of cash to take the car home.

2010 Ford GT90 Super Sport Car Concept

The one-off GT90 Concept Car, labeled immediately as "the world's mightiest supercar" by Ford Motor Company on December 6, 1994, was the spiritual successor to the Ford GT40, the product of a colossal feud in the early 1960s between the Blue Oval from Dearborn and the Prancing Horse of Northern Italy. The GT90 draws from the design cues of its heritage and pays homage to the famed Le Mans-winning Ford GT40s of the 1960s, which were created after the failed attempt by Ford to buy out Ferrari.
At a development cost in the neighborhood of $3 million, the GT90 was certainly worthy of pulling styling cues from the original Ford GTs, and although it was never meant for production, it was built according to a Ford press release as a "test bed for technology, engineering and design concepts, and driver-oriented features that eventually may be used in Ford production vehicles."
Officially unveiled to the public in January 1995 at the Detroit Auto Show, the GT90 is finished in bright white with a bright blue and carbon fiber interior. It features a mid engine quad-turbocharged V12 that produces an estimated 720 horsepower and 660 pound-feet of torque. As a result, it had a claimed top speed of 253 mph, which even by today's standards would make it one of the fastest production cars in the world – faster even than a McLaren F1, which was widely considered the world's preeminent supercar at the time.

2010 Ford GT90 Super Sport Car Concept

The engine, which was a 48-valve six-liter V12, had to be combined together with four Garrett Systems T2 turbochargers in order to reach its estimated 720 horsepower and was based on the Ford Modular engine. Created by using parts of two Lincoln V8 engines, engineers removed the last pair of cylinders from the rear of one engine and the first pair of cylinders from the front of the other engine. The cut-down engines were then welded together with the final result being a 90-degree V12, which utilized a 90.2 mm bore and a 77.3 mm stroke to achieve maximum power.
The GT90 features the FFD-Ricardo five-speed manual gearbox found on the XJ220 and, considering the torque load that it is designed to handle, is noted as having a relatively light shift quality. Also borrowed from the XJ220 comes the all around double wishbone suspension that was designed to enable the car to handle well at top speeds.

2010 Ford GT90 Super Sport Car Concept

Using Ford's new "Edge" design philosophy, the car incorporated advanced technology with a mixture of flat planes, angles, glass and triangular shapes that seemingly all collided together. The GT90 was the first car created using this new styling directive from Ford, which went on to be responsible for the creation of other Ford products like the Ka and Cougar. The effect is most impressive and a wonderfully executed stylistic throwback to its GT40 predecessor, which at once stays true to its heritage but acknowledges the advances in modern design. Taken directly from race car technology, the GT90 body panels are molded out of carbon fiber while the chassis is formed out of a honey-comb sectioned aluminum monocoque.
The GT90 is a test bed of advanced technology and design. It sports a tinted, laminated glass bubble over the cockpit and a spoiler that rises off the rear deck at high speeds. According to Ford, it has a "design that tightly enclosed its mechanicals with no wasted space; high tech lighting and blind-spot detection systems; and tiles like those on the space shuttle to shield the V12's exhaust outlets."

2010 Ford GT90 Super Sport Car Concept

After its unveiling in Detroit, the GT90 made its rounds on the Auto Show Circuit in 1995, traveling around the world to Frankfurt and as far away as Tokyo. With few other showings in between, the car recently was shipped over to Europe to be on display in the Ford of Europe 2008 exhibit at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. After returning home, the car was shipped to Alabama where it was on display as part of the Mustang 45th Anniversary Celebration.
This superb concept car remains in excellent running condition, having been properly stored and maintained over the years in between its show appearances. RM Auctions is proud to publicly offer the GT90 for the first time ever at auction. A remarkable one-off piece of automotive history and cutting-edge design, its offering may very well be a once in a lifetime opportunity for Ford devotees and concept car enthusiasts.

Exterior Design 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302

Starting with the 1969 model year the Ford brought the road racing Mustang program in house by creating the Boss 302 with styling by Larry Shinoda, suspension was design by Kar Kraft. Engineer Matt Donner was the man responsible for the excellent Boss 302 chassis, which quickly impressed the critics with the way it hugged the road. The engine was a Ford 5.0L block with the new 351 Cleveland heads. The car was originally to be called the Trans Am, until Ford found out GM had already licensed the name from the SCCA.

Advancement for the Mustang in 1969 also came in the form of living up to the company vision of "models for specific segments of the market". In doing so, the 1969 Mustang for sale offered the widest choice of models and powertrains not only among Mustangs but also among all muscle cars. Perhaps at the time no one except visionaries within the Ford fully appreciated what that would mean. In retrospect, it is clear that building the Mustang presence throughout the automotive market helped establish it as the de facto sports car of choice in the U.S.

The Boss 429 was also built in response to Chrysler's 426 Hemi and it's success in Nascar. Ford built a 427 Hemi-headed single overhead cam motor first, but it wasn't considered stock enough for the series so along came the "semi-Hemi" head 429. Kar Kraft was given the task of wedging a 429 into the Mustang. Quarter-mile times were reported to be in the lower 14s. Although another of the hot rod magazines, Car Craft, slightly modified the stock 429 and got a 1/4 mile in the mid 12s. The street cars came from the factory with a conservative cam and a somewhat small carburetor.

Under the hood, Ford started with the 200- and 250-cubic-inch V6 motors that generate 115 and 155 horsepower, respectively. The base V8 option was a 302-cubic-inch motor that produces 220 horsepower. The big-block 390 hammers out 320, down five horsepower from the version that Ford included in the 1968 model. The top option was once again the Cobra Jet 428 that Ford conservatively rated at 335 horsepower with or without the optional ram-air induction.

All New 2012 Ford C-MAX Minivan

The ride is comfortable on the motorways as well as in and around town; the engines are ultra quiet, even the diesel engines. Wind noise is kept out of the cabin but some road noise does slip in but not intrusive enough to cause too much distress.

So what makes the Transit Connect an optimal vehicle for electrification? For starters, the Transit Connect is a commercial van, whose users often travel predictable, short routes with frequent stops in tight urban or suburban areas. This type of driving results in a negative impact on the fuel efficiency of internal combustion engines. Also, commercial drivers generally return to a central location at the end of the day, which is perfect for recharging the battery overnight. The Transit Connect will have a targeted range of up to 130 km/80 miles on a full charge, a top speed of 75 mph, and will be rechargeable using standard European outlets. A full charge is complete in 6-8 hours. The best thing about this type of vehicle? Since it runs completely on lithium-ion batteries, it won't use any fuel, and will have ZERO exhaust emissions.

In the next few years, more electric cars will be introduced to both the European and U.S. markets. In 2012, the Ford Focus Electric will become available. It will be fully electric, just like the Transit Connect, with zero emissions. The lithium-ion batteries can be charged to last for about 100 miles of driving. The Focus Electric will also feature a user-friendly interface similar to the Ford Fusion Hybrid's award-winning SmartGauge.

2011 Ford Focus rendered speculation

The face lifted Focus range has reinvigorated the popular hatch, headlined by the aggressive performance flagship RS model, although this merely preempts the arrival of the all-new Focus due in 2011

The new model will take Ford’s kinetic design to its limits, offering a truly global package with international style, highly-efficient powertrains and innovative green technologies.
These artists’ renderings provide a glimpse at what we may be able to expect from Ford, combining the current kinetic motif with the “Bold American” theme currently employed by the Fusion and Edge crossover SUV.
Under the “One Ford” product strategy devised by CEO Alan Mullaly, the next-generation Focus is being designed and engineered by Ford of Europe which has been assigned the role as the brand’s centre for global small-car development.
This strategy has been formulated with the aim of reducing initial costs and improving manufacturing economies of scale by employing a single design for all markets rather than introducing separate designs for specific regions.
The car will likely debut Ford’s new C3 architecture which has been built as a versatile platform to suit a wider range of vehicle types including compact-crossovers and people movers, along with eventually forming the underpinnings of sister models such as the Mazda3 and Volvo range.
The new Focus will be the make-or-break car for Ford as the economic slump will no doubt eventually take its toll on what has so far proved to be the most resilient US car maker.

2011-2012 Ford Ranger T6

Fuel economy for the Ranger is good for a truck; twenty-two miles per gallon in the city and twenty-seven miles per gallon on the highway. The truck has a payload capacity of one thousand one hundred sixty pounds, and the truck bed volume rates at thirty-seven cubic feet. The Ranger truck bed is six feet long. In comparison, the 4.0L V6 produces two hundred ten horsepower at five thousand one hundred revolutions per minute and two hundred fifty-four pound feet of torque at three thousand seven hundred revolutions per minute. Standard equipment on the Ranger includes manual air conditioning, anti-lock brakes, an AM/FM stereo, and stability control. Safety features on the Ford Ranger include traction control, airbags for the driver and passenger, side airbags, and an engine immobilizer. The Ford Ranger received a five star rating in driver front crash testing, a four star rating in passenger front crash testing, and a three star rating in rollover crash testing.

Now, insurance is a very confusing subject and though a sturdy car like the Ford Ranger does more than half the talking to the insurance companies itself, the rest i.e. taking a decision, at the end, depends upon the buyer. The Ford Ranger require only a few basic yet important coverage, which are not enough for the insurance companies to make a decent profit. Hence, while selling Ford Ranger insurance, the company may include extra coverage; hence, a buyer must know and understand what different coverage means and the benefits they bring.
